World Water Day 2011

World Water Day, Tue 22 March: a crucial moment in the fight against the global sanitation and water crisis.

Thanks to everyone who walked for water, invited their MP to walk with them at Westminster, talked about water, tweeted a #worldwaterday message (helping it to become a top trending topic), or did anything else to mark World Water Day!


Special thanks to all the MPs who visited us at Westminster and pledged their support and solidarity for the nearly 900 million people who still do not have access to clean water.

But the action doesn't just last for a day! Get involved:

WaterAid is asking you to take action and sign our new petition to the International Development Secretary, Andrew Mitchell (pictured).

It calls on the UK Government to raise its ambition even further and help more people gain access to clean water and safe sanitation.
