This cross-cutting programme builds on a long history of key strategic contributions to national policies and strategies in Bangladesh’s WASH sector. We conduct research and generate knowledge for evidence-based advocacy with the government, development partners, private sector and the public. We run campaigns to create national momentum and interest around critical issues like faecal sludge management, rainwater harvesting, pro-poor WASH policies, menstrual hygiene management and Global Goal 6.

Alongside, our technical unit researches and pilots new technologies that can benefit those most in need, and contributes to building sector capacity in under-explored areas through trainings, institutional networks and horizontal learning. As a central theme in all our influencing work, we aim to mobilise people’s voice through national and international networks, and advocate collectively through platforms and alliances in the WASH sector and beyond for integrated planning that acknowledges the central role of WASH in human development.

We campaign and engage decision-makers to bring about a world where everyone, everywhere has these essentials by 2030.
