We drink it, wash our hands with it, use it to prepare food, and to flush away our toilet waste. But too many people can't take these actions safely because they don't have access to clean water.

Azmatun spends three hours each day collecting water from the nearest river – and it isn’t even clean. This puts her health at risk and leaves her no time for school.

people don’t have a decent toilet of their own.

Navy doesn’t have an accessible toilet nearby, so come rain or shine, she has to wheel herself outside to go in the open, jeopardising her safety and her health.

people lack handwashing facilities at home.
