Supporting communities through Islam

WaterAid/ Saiyna Bashir

One in ten people do not have clean water close to home.

Around the world, many Muslim communities do not have clean water. It impacts their health, opportunities and religious practices. With your help, we can change this.

Clean water and good hygiene means families can stay healthy, children can spend more time in school, women and men can earn a living.

By giving Zakat or Sadaqah, you can make clean water a reality for more people around the world. Your donations fund vital projects that empower communities to change their lives for the better.

The impact of Muslim giving

Each year, your generous donations make a huge difference. Our 2023 Ramadan campaign helped...

  • Build water, sanitation and hygiene facilities in 50 Madrassa schools in three districts in Bangladesh that are vulnerable to climate change.
  • Bring water, sanitation and hygiene services to more than 15,000 people in ten communities in Pakistan.
  • Improve facilities in a healthcare centre in Mali and train healthcare workers to look after the facilities in the long term.
Water is a basic and absolute element of life whose wise use is emphasised in Islamic teachings.
