This pilot study of Social Return on investment (SROI) was conducted for WaterAid Bangladesh (WAB)’s, HSBC supported, ‘Transforming Rural Livelihoods through WASH in Climate Vulnerable Areas in Southeast Bangladesh’ project. The project included six thematic components. The study indicates an estimated SROI of 11.41 for MHM, i.e. for each Taka investment in menstrual hygiene management a return of BDT 11.41 was accrued to the stakeholders included in the study. Similarly, in hand-wash, each Taka investment resulted in a return of BDT 6.10 (SROI=6.10) to the relevant stakeholders, who were included in the study.
