Actor Tobias Menzies named a WaterAid Ambassador
November 7, 2019 — WaterAid today announces that actor Tobias Menzies (The Crown, Outlander, and Game of Thrones) has become an ambassador for the international charity.
The announcement comes ahead of the launch of the third season of The Crown, which will be available on Netflix from November 17, 2019. Tobias will be seen as Prince Philip alongside Olivia Coleman, who plays Queen Elizabeth II.
Tobias’s first official duty in his new role is to launch WaterAid’s winter campaign, Access Denied, which aims to raise $200,000 to help get clean water and decent sanitation to poor communities around the world.
Tobias Menzies said:
“Having access to clean water and a decent toilet shouldn’t be a luxury. Yet access to these basic needs are being denied to millions of people around the world affecting the health, education and livelihoods of whole communities. Due to climate change, this situation is set to get even more challenging each year.
“I’m proud to become an ambassador for WaterAid, working with them to raise awareness of the urgent need to address this global crisis, and supporting their efforts to transform lives across the world by ensuring more access to clean water and good sanitation.”
