Fakir Fashion Limited and Next Accessories signs MoU with WaterAid and SAJIDA Foundation
The ‘Addressing WASH crisis among RMG workers in Narayanganj’ project will establish sustainable water resource systems in factories through rainwater harvesting (RWH), along with drinking water points and safe sanitation facilities in communities. Hygiene awareness sessions in factories and communities will support people understand and practice better hygiene, including menstrual hygiene management. The project will reach 10,000 workers and their families by December 2020, and comprehensive research will be carried out to identify the impact WASH interventions like this have on the overall supply chain.
Md Khairul Islam, Country Director of WaterAid; Ms Zahida Fizza Kabir, Executive Director of SAJIDA Foundation; Mr Fakir Kamruzzaman Nahid, Managing Director of Fakir Fashion Limited and Mr Ashraful Islam Mamun, Managing Director and CEO of Next Accessories were present today at the signing ceremony, shaking hands on an innovative and impactful venture that is sure to set a precedent for multi-sector collaboration.
