Thanks to the efforts of WaterAid and its partners (AGAHE and Public Health Engineering Department Punjab), the district government and other development organisations.

WaterAid celebrated this accomplishment on 27 November 2019 in Muzaffargarh. The event was attended by Zartaj Gul, Minister of State for Climate Change, Tim Wainwright, Chief Executive WaterAid UK, Tim Clark, Board Chair WaterAid UK, Ali Shehzad, DCO Muzaffargarh, Najeeb Aslam, Deputy Secretary Local Government Punjab, and other dignitaries.

"WaterAid installed 1,400 demo latrines and motivated the people of Muzaffargarh to build 80,000 more to help get the whole district open-defecation free", Siddiq Khan, Country Director WaterAid Pakistan.
