The Severn Trent Mountain Challenge
Event information
Setting off from Hope Valley College, walkers self-navigate across the glorious Dark Peak area - flexing their map reading and orienteering skills along the way. You'll enjoy spectacular views and exhilarating inclines before descending back through Edale to Hope Valley College for refreshments and hot food.
All registration fees and any sponsorship raised from this event will go towards a project in Bangladesh being supported by the Severn Trent WaterAid committee.
The challenge options
There are three routes to choose from: 10, 20 or 30 miles. You can find the routes in our Severn Trent Challenge Strava Club, or download the route below.
There are multiple options for how you join the challenge too.
You can choose to register...
You can join the challenge as a group of between 3 - 7 people.
- Decide on your team and nominate a team captain.
- The team captain must register first for your chosen challenge and the 'self-guided team walk', so that they can create the 'team'.
- The rest of the team will then register and choose to join the team.
If you aren't part of a team but would still like to join the self-guided challenge, the event organisers can match you with other registrants to walk with on the day.
When registering make sure you select one of the challenge options labelled 'Self-guided walk (I don't have a team)'.
If you're keen for the challenge but less confident in your orienteering skills, you can join the guided walk. Please note that the guided walk is possible for the 10 mile challenge only.
