Volunteering for WaterAid in the UK

When you volunteer for WaterAid UK, you'll join a global network of people committed to one thing: making clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene a normal part of daily life for everyone, everywhere.

We couldn't do it without you – thank you!

All of our opportunities are based in the United Kingdom. If you're from a country outside the UK or the Republic of Ireland, you'll need to check whether your visa allows you to volunteer. We advise that you contact the UK Visas and Immigration Agency to find out. We're unable to sponsor volunteer visas.

Events volunteering

Give a few hours at one of our events! You could be doing anything from registering participants and cheering on marathon runners, to taking donations or talking about WaterAid at special events.

Festival volunteering

Can you inspire others to support WaterAid, whilst delivering vital services at the some of the UK’s most exciting festivals? Are you a happy camper come rain or shine?

Speaker Network

Do you have a passion for public speaking? Then you could become a volunteer Speaker, delivering talks and workshops – whether online or in person – about WaterAid. We provide all the online training, resources and ongoing support you need.

NB: This role could bring you into contact with vulnerable groups. As part of our commitment to safeguarding, we will carry out appropriate screening procedures.

Join a local group

Volunteer in your community, meet like-minded supporters, and make a real difference to people's lives!

Local groups organise fundraising events, build relationships with local schools and organisations, and support our campaigns and advocacy work.

University volunteering

Could you be the voice of WaterAid on your campus? As a WaterAid Student Ambassador or society member, you’ll have the opportunity to learn important skills, meet new people and gain valuable experience for life after university – all whist helping to tackle the global water and sanitation crisis.
